WWIM - International Coordination Data Catalog Ad hoc Expert Group
This page is used by the
International Coordination Data Catalog Ad hoc Expert Group to exchange information on a proposed Data Catalog of trusted key climate indicator data sets as a follow up action from the WMO Workshop on Information Management held at WMO Geneva, 2-4 October 2017. (

Terms of Reference:
1) Review the maturity models (NOAA-NCEI, Europe, others) for assessing maturity of global data sets and propose a WMO Convergence Model
2) Propose a draft catalog of about 10 pre-identified trusted data sets for global access in support of operational climate monitoring:
- Temperatures, (obs based, reanalyzes, satellite based)
- Precipitation
- Sea Ice
- Sea Level
- Ice-sheets
- Glaciers
- Climate Indices
- Crowd-sourced data sets
- Hydrology (optional)
3) Ad hoc Expert group (NOAA, Met Office, KNMI, NSIDC, BOM, ECMWF, GCW) to agree on the catalog of these data sets and propose recommendations on how they could be discoverable in a prominent position when using Internet engine search.
