Regional Office for the Americas

The WMO Regional Office for the Americas (RAM) is part of the Development and Regional Activities Department. It encompasses South America (Region III) as well as North America, Central America and the Caribbean (Region IV). These regions are very diverse, including all types of climatic zones, from the permafrost of the tundra to deserts. It is therefore subject to many different weather and climate impacts, such as flooding, hurricanes, sand storms or land slides.
