Mr. Philip Munah joined the Kenya Meteorological Department in 1978 where he has worked for twenty nine years and held various positions: Meteorologist I, Senior Meteorologist and Assistant Director of Meteorological Services in 1993. He is now acting Deputy Director of Meteorological Services in charge of Applications and Technical Services. Previously, he has headed the Education &Training Division division, the Research & Development Division and the Hydrometeorological Services Division which he headed upto 2006. He is now the Kenya Meteorological Department focal point, and member of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Commission for Hydrology. He also served as a member and represented the meteorological service in Project Management Team of Water Resources Management Authority in Kenya; National Steering Committee on Development of Strategy for Flood Management in Lake Victoria; National Steering Committee on Implementation of UNCCD; National Climate Change Activities Coordination Committee (NCCACC); and WMO Task Team for preparation of a concept paper on Joint UNESCO-WMO Flood Management Initiative.
