Mission
The RMDP will seek to support NMHSs and WMO Technical Programmes to enhance the level of support and funding to programs and projects aimed at improvement of the NMHSs in the Member countries to help them establish the levels of service needed to support the protection of life, property and environment and the security of food production, energy and water resources, with particular emphasis on the developing countries, LDCs and SIDS.
Vision
National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), in particular those in developing countries, LDCs and SIDS, adequately resourced to deliver efficient services in support of protection of life, property and environment and contributing effectively to their national socio-economic development process.
Guiding Principle
Advocate the importance of the hydro-meteorological services as a key contribution in the development process and demonstrate their value and contribution of NMHSs products and services to the reduction of poverty overall and to a wide range of key sectors including agriculture, health, energy, disaster risk reduction and early warning systems, transport, water security and adaptation to climate change.
