Global and Regional Centres for the Global Data Processing and Forecasting System (GDPFS)
GDPFS is organized as a three-level system consisting of World Meteorological Centres (WMCs), Regional Specialized Meteorological Centres (RSMCs) and National Meteorological Centres (NMCs), which carry out GDPFS functions at the global, regional and national levels, respectively. Within RSMCs, there are centres with geographical specialization, centres with activity specialization, Global Producing Centres for long-range Forecasts (GPCs) and Global Climate Centres (GCCs). For more details about GDPFS, please see its Manual available here.
World Meteorological Centres (WMCs), Regional Specialised Meteorological Centres (RSMCs) with geographical specialization and with activity specialization.

Global Producing Centres for Long-range Forecasts (GPCs)
GPCs are centres designated by WMO for the provision of global long-range forecasts. For more details, please see here.
Also note that there are the following two designated Lead Centres
- WMO Lead Centre for Long Range Forecast Multi-Model Ensemble (LC-LRFMME) jointly coordinated by KMA and NOAA/NCEP
- WMO Lead Centre for Standard Verification System of Long Range Forecasts (LC-SVSLRF) jointly coordinated by BoM and MSC
Other major centres such as International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI), USA and APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Climate Centre (APCC), Republic of Korea are also providing global seasonal forecasts.

Regional Climate Centres (RCCs)
WMO RCCs are centres of excellence that create regional products including long-range forecasts that support regional and national climate activities and thereby strengthen capacity of WMO Members in a given region to deliver better climate services to national users.
