Mission

Support the Seamless Data Processing and Forecasting System implementation in RA VI

Terms of References

 

  • Liaise with the national focal points for the Seamless Data Processing and Forecasting System (SDPFS) in order to facilitate the Seamless Data Processing and Forecasting System implementation,
  • Represent the RA VI in the WMO Executive Council Steering Group on SDPFS and contribute to the implementation of its Terms of Reference;
  • Report to the RA VI Management Group and the WMO Secretariat on the progress of the Seamless DPFS implementation in RA VI.

The WMO Executive Council Steering Group on SDPFS' Terms of references

 

  • Provide guidance and monitor the gradual establishment of the future enhanced integrated and seamless WMO Data-processing and Forecasting System, based on the achievements of the World Weather Watch;
  • Manage the integration of new components in the Global Data-processing and Forecasting System and address synergies with and requirements of all WMO Programmes and Regions, through active consultations with technical commissions and regional associations;
  • Prepare a description of the set of products the system should produce;
    Complete the Implementation Plan of the seamless Data-Processing and Forecasting System for consideration by the Executive Council at its sixty-ninth session;
