Item description	It automatically connects and downloads wind profiler data files from remote sites via telephone lines. The software is also capable of controlling the frequency of transfer of data files when used in conjunction with a Windows-based scheduler. It also makes regular checks on the status of telephone lines and communication conditions, and attempts to re-try establishment of connections in the event of telecommunication problems.

Description of supplier	The Hong Kong Observatory is a government department responsible for monitoring and forecasting weather, as well as issuing warnings on weather-related hazards.
