Effective  01 May - 30 September 2004, stations 62306, 62378, 62414 will implement a program of radiosonde observations only at 1200 UTC.  Stations 62337, 62403 and  62423 will implement  a program of radiosonde observations only at 0000 UTC.

The following changes have been received from:

    Announcement of changes in transmission of TEMP, CLIMAT-TEMP and SYNOP SHIP from Kalaallit Nunaat, Greenland 
    Notification from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) (see METNO MC2304.txt)

At present the Danish Meteorological Institue distributes bulletins containing TEMP, CLIMAT-TEMP and SYNOP SHIP from Kangerlussuaq (BGSF) Kalaallit Nunaat, Greenland.  Bulletins are distributed according to WMO Publication No. 9, Volume C1, and transmission takes place on an AFTN circuit to IMO, Reykjavik, Iceland, where bulletins are put on GTS.  At DMI the bulletins are received on the RMDCN-line from RTH Exeter, England.

As part of a rearrangement of the distribution of the bulletins, DMI will as of 1 September 2004 send the bulletins directly from Greenland to DMI Copenhagen, where the bulletins will be put on the RMDCN-line to RTH Norrköping, Sweden for further distribution on GTS.

The CCCC in the bulletin heading will with the rearrangement change from BGSF to EKMI. 

The planned changes affects the following bulletins:

    ECMWF PRODUCTS INITIATED AT 00 UTC ON THE GTS 
    Since 9 March 2004 ECMWF has been providing analysis and forecast products on the GTS based on 00 UTC data time.  The product set for this second forecast run initiated at 00UTC is equivalent to the product set disseminated from the 12UTC run.  Further information and details of the bulletin headers of all ECMWF products disseminated on the GTS can be found at: http://www.ecmwf.int/products/additional/

 

    DATA MANAGEMENT
    MONITORING EXERCISES
    The global analysis made by the Secretariat of the special MTN monitoring exercise carried out in April 2004 is now available.
