World Weather Watch   Dear Reader,
This Newsletter is disseminated free of charge by the World Meteorological Organization Secretariat.     GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM
    New Test Meteorological Products on the GTS

A trial dissemination of Meteorological products derived from MSG images via the GTS commenced on Wednesday 22 October.  This dissemination incorporates Meteorological Products from the Product Validation Test Phase within commissioning. 

The disseminated products are test products.

The originator is EUMG and not EUMS (Reserved for Meteosat First Generation)
Intended MSG MPEF GTS Bulletin Headers
The bulletins are encoded in BUFR code only
Product 90 Degrees West to 0 Degrees — 0 Degrees to 90 Degrees East

MANUAL ON CODES -  Global practices

                                             Changes to codes

It is recalled that changes to BUFR/CREX/GRIB2 Tables (found in Supplement 1 to the Manual on Codes, Volume I.2) and also FM 12 SYNOP, FM 13 SHIP (for precipitation reporting) (found in Supplement 4 to Manual on Codes, Volume I.1) approved by CBS Ext. (2002), and endorsed by Executive Council in June 2003, will be implemented operationally on 5 November 2003.

The amendments to Table Driven Codes approved by CBS to be operational on Wednesday 5 November 2003 have been included in the WMO web server BUFR, CREX and GRIB 2 Code tables. 

The proposed changes to Codes can be found in the WMO Web server at
