FLUOROMETRIC PROCEDURES FOR DYE TRACING |
||
1. Purpose and objectives To provide background information on instruments and procedures used
in dye tracer studies. 2. Description The manual (Wilson and others, 1986) describes fluorometric procedures used in dye tracer studies such as time of travel, dispersion, reaeration,
and dilution-type discharge measurements. It includes information on fluorescence, dyes, and fluorometers and a description of fluorometer
operation and calibration procedures as a guide for laboratory and field
use. 3. Input Not applicable. 4. Output Not applicable. 5. Operational requirements and restrictions Not applicable. 6. Form of presentation Manual, written in English, is available (Wilson and others, 1986). 7. Operational experience Extensive use within the United States. 8. Originator and technical support U.S. Geological Survey, Office of Surface Water, Reston, Virginia, USA. 9. Availability From the HOMS National Reference Centre for USA. 10. Conditions on use Manual is available free of charge. Reference Wilson, J. F., Cobb, E. D., and Kilpatrick, F.
