MANUAL ON PROCEDURES IN OPERATIONAL HYDROLOGY, VOLUME I-V


1.  Purpose and objectives

     Manual for use by field hydrologists and water technicians. Also suitable as a text book for the teaching of operational hydrology.

2.  Description

     The Manual consists of five volumes dealing with :

     1.  Establishment of Stream Gauging Stations
     2.  Operation of Stream Gauging Stations
     3.  Stream Discharge Measurements by Current Meter and Salt Dilution
     4.  Stage-Discharge Relations at Stream Gauging Station
     5.  Sediment Transport in Stream - Sampling, Analysis and Computation

Five volumes

7.  Operational experience

     First version prepared for the Ministry of Water, Energy, and Minerals of Tanzania, and is used by that country for the support and teaching of field hydrologists and water technicians. Copies have been submitted to other developing countries. A second revised and enlarged edition has been prepared by Norwegian authorities. The new version has, so far, been distributed to a few developing countries.

10. Conditions on use

     The updated and reprinted version is avaiable at a cost of NOK 800 (includes a full set I-V). Single volumes at a cost of NOK 200 each.
