FLOAT TYPE WATER LEVEL GAUGE


1.   Purpose and objectives

     To measure and record the water level in rivers, dams and sea over a long-term period.

2.   Description

     Changes in water level are transmitted from a float to 2 recording pens (a centimeter and a meter pen) via a pulley and a gear mechanism. An optional telemetry transmitter is available.

3.   Input

     Actual water level.

4.   Output

     Water level charts. Range 0m-10m with an accuracy of 1cm.

5.   Operational requirements and restrictions

     The observation well should be over 600mm inside diameter.

6.   Form of presentation

     A catalogue and instrument specifications are available.

7.   Operational experience

     About 50 sets were installed in Japan in 1999.
