DOUBLE-LOUVERED THERMOMETER SCREEN |

To protect
thermometers from solar radiation and to shelter them
from precipitation, while allowing the free circulation of air. 2. Description The screen has
a single door. The walls are double-louvered and the floor is
made of staggered boards. The roof is double layered,
with provision for ventilation of the space between the two
layers. The screen is painted white inside and out, and stands
1.80 m high. Drawings are provided for both small and
medium-sized screens. 3. Input Not

above. 5. Operational requirements and restrictions The screen
should be placed so that the sun does not shine on
the thermometers when the door is open at the times of
observation. It should be installed in such a position as to
ensure that the measurements are representative of the free air
circulating in the locality and not influenced by artificial
conditions such as large buildings and expanses of concrete. 6. Form of presentation Constructional
drawings. 7. Operational experience The
thermometer screen has been manufactured by the
Thai Meteorological Department and successfully used in Thailand. 8. Originator and technical support Instrument
