1. Purpose and objectives To measure and
record the amount and the intensity of rainfall. 2. Description This recording rain gauge utilizes a tipping bucket-type rainfall detector and a mechanical pen recorder suitable for long-term (3 months) operation at sites without line electricity supplies, such as in mountain regions. Every 3 months it is necessary to change the roll chart and the dry cell battery for the chart feed crystal clock. The rainfall
receiver has a 200mm diameter and bucket capacity 0.5mm or 1mm.
It is accurate to within 3% for intensities of less than 100mm/h. 3. Input Actual rain. 4. Output Recorded
chart. 5. Operational requirements and restrictions For the
installation site of the instrument, a location should
be selected where there are no surrounding obstacles such as
large trees, buildings, and ground surface is flat. 6. Form of presentation A catalogue
and instrument specifications are available. 7. Operational experience About 30 sets
